Lysander Holidays, based in Kolkata, India, organizes group and customized holidays both within India and internationally. By confirming a booking with us, clients agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all our tours unless otherwise stated in a specific tour program. Clients are requested to read this document carefully, as it outlines our payment policies, cancellation rules, liability limitations, and other essential provisions.

Payment Terms

For all bookings made more than 30 days in advance, an initial payment of 50% of the total tour cost is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days prior to the tour start date for domestic tours and 50 days prior for international departures. Bookings made within 30 days of the trip require full payment at the time of booking.

Please note that the initial booking amount (advance payment) is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including cancellations, date changes, or no-shows. This applies to all payment plans, including installment options.

We also offer installment plans upon request. However, any advance paid under installment plans is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. If the full payment is not received within the agreed time frame, the booking may be cancelled without notice and without refund. Payments may be made via bank transfer, UPI, or credit/debit card. Please note that a processing fee of 2% may apply to credit card payments.

In certain cases, we may provide a grace period for payment completion, but this does not alter our cancellation policy. Continued non-payment may lead to legal action, and the client shall be liable for all recovery costs, including legal and administrative expenses.

Booking Confirmation and Boarding Requirements​​

A booking is confirmed only when the required payment is received and acknowledged by us. Clients must ensure that the payment receipt is shared with us and confirmed at our end. Boarding will not be permitted if the full payment is pending or if a valid payment acknowledgment is unavailable.

All participants must present a valid government-issued photo ID before joining the tour. For international tours, the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of return to India.

Accommodation and Room Sharing

Accommodation is provided on a twin or triple-sharing basis, depending on the booking. In triple-sharing arrangements, rooms may include either twin beds or one double bed with an additional mattress. The allocation of beds shall be decided mutually by the participants. If no agreement is reached, our representative (tour buddy) will offer the best available alternative within the same hotel or equivalent nearby accommodation. Any additional charges incurred due to a special request will be borne by the requesting participant.

Please note that hotel amenities may vary depending on the location. A 3-star hotel in a metro city may offer different standards of service compared to a similarly rated hotel in a remote tourist destination. Our focus remains on hygiene, safety, security, and basic comfort rather than luxury.

Itinerary and Tour Operations

​All itineraries are tentative and subject to change due to operational, logistical, or safety-related reasons. Minor adjustments in the schedule or sequence of activities do not qualify for compensation or refund. We reserve the right to modify or rearrange the itinerary without prior notice if required for the smooth conduct of the tour.

Participants are expected to report on time for all transfers and activities. No delays will be accommodated due to individual lateness. All dues, including pending payments and document checks, must be completed before departure. Delays or interruptions caused by participants may lead to exclusion from scheduled activities, without refund.

Optional Activities

Optional activities or excursions not included in the base package are undertaken at the participant’s own cost and risk. Lysander Holidays is not responsible for the availability, safety, or operation of such third-party activities. Our team can assist in connecting travelers with vendors but bears no responsibility for the quality or outcome of these activities. This includes but is not limited to adventure sports, water sports, entertainment, or local experiences arranged independently.

Transport and Flights

While we assist with flight bookings, Lysander Holidays is not responsible for flight delays, cancellations, baggage issues, or changes in airline policies. Travelers must coordinate directly with the airline for any concerns. We will, however, provide reasonable support in such situations.

Cancellations and Refunds

The initial booking amount and any pre-purchased non-refundable tickets (airline, train, entry passes) are strictly non-refundable. For cancellations received in writing at info@lysanderholidays.com, the following refund rules apply (excluding non-refundable components):

Cancellations sent on weekends or public holidays are considered received on the next working day. Visa rejection or entry denial does not entitle the client to a refund. We recommend clients consult us before applying for visas.

In the rare event of cancellation from our side, clients will be offered a full refund (excluding non-refundable tickets) or an alternative tour. No additional compensation shall be paid.

Force Majeure

In the event of the occurrence of any circumstance beyond the control of Lysander Holidays, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemic outbreaks, governmental restrictions, civil disturbances, or any other similar extraordinary events (“Force Majeure Event”), the Company shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to:

If the cancellation or termination arises due to a Force Majeure Event, the Company shall not be held liable to refund any amount already paid by the client, nor shall it be obligated to pay any compensation, damages, or interest of any nature whatsoever.

Should such an event occur after the commencement of the tour, the Company will take all reasonable steps to assist the client in returning to the original place of departure, if a return journey is included under the original Tour Contract. However, all additional costs incurred in facilitating such return arrangements shall be borne solely by the client.

Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance that covers Force Majeure events, as the Company shall not be responsible for any loss or inconvenience caused by such events.

Health, Safety, and Responsibility

Participation in our trips may involve risks such as travel through remote areas, use of various forms of transport, exposure to natural forces, and unavailability of rapid medical services. While we strive to ensure a safe and smooth journey, Lysander Holidays shall not be held responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained before, during, or after the tour.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering health emergencies, trip cancellations, delays, and loss of baggage. Clients travel at their own risk and accept personal responsibility for any consequences that may arise.

Media and Privacy Policy

Photographs and videos may be taken during the trip for promotional use on our website, social media, or other marketing materials. If a participant wishes not to appear in any such content, they must notify us in writing before the start of the tour. Personal data shared with us is used solely for communication, bookings, and internal marketing and is never shared or sold to third parties.

All content created and shared by Lysander Holidays, including images, videos, itineraries, and promotional materials, remains our intellectual property. We do not entertain disputes over published media but welcome requests or suggestions via email.

Dispute Resolution and Legal Jurisdiction

Lysander Holidays reserves the right to refuse service to anyone found to be misbehaving, submitting fake identification, or breaching payment terms. Any refund due will be processed within 30 working days.

All legal matters, disputes, or claims arising out of or in connection with our services shall be governed by the laws of India and fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in Kolkata, West Bengal. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through mediation. If unresolved, the matter shall proceed to arbitration as per applicable laws. Any legal or recovery costs incurred due to disputes or non-payment shall be borne by the client.
